2008 Colorado Snipe Championship

Note: This event will be run in conjunction with the Colorado Butterfly Championship. The same Race Committee will be used for both events, and both events will share the course and starting/finishing areas, as well as all other scheduled events (dinner, awards ceremony, etc). Separate starts will be given to each fleet.

1. Schedule of Events:

Saturday, June 7, 2008
09:00 to 10:00 Registration and Continental breakfast at clubhouse
10:00 Skippers meeting at the clubhouse
11:25 Warning signal for first race, addl. races to immediately follow
18:00 Dinner served at the clubhouse

Sunday, June 7, 2008
09:55 Warning signal for first race, addl. races to immediately follow ASAP after last race - trophy presentation
No race will be started after 16:30 on Sat. or 14:30 on Sun.

2. Rules:

This Regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008.

3. Eligibility and Entry:

The event is open to Butterfly One Design Class. All racers shall comply with their One Design Class rules.

5. Fees:

Regatta Entry Fees: $50.00

Not included in entry fee: Vehicle, park or boat passes, (available at the park entry station)

6. Measurement:

The individual class associations shall govern measurement.

7. Sailing Instructions:

Sailing instructions will be available at the registration.

8. Regatta Site:

The regatta site will be at Union Sailing Club on the Eastern Shore of Union Reservoir, Longmont, Colorado

9. Racing Area and Courses: Racing area and courses will be as shown on the Union Sailing Club 2008 Race Course Chart, available at registration.

10. Penalty System: Rule 44.2 Two Turn Penalty shall apply.

11. Scoring:

1. The low point scoring system of Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 will be used.
2. A boats’ worst score will be excluded from her total more than 5 races are completed.
