NOTICE OF RACE
1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, 2005–2008 and the Mutineer 15 Class Association Racing Rules: http://www.mutineer15.org/racingrules.html
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Mutineer 15 Class, and skipper and crew that meet the requirements listed in the MCA Racing rules.
2.2 Boats and sails will be inspected and measured. See the accompanying sheet for specifics.
2.3 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to:

To be received by June 20, 2008, or by registering on-site at the event.
3 FEES
3.1 The regatta fee for registrations received by June 20 will be $200.
The registration fee after June 20 will be $220.
The registration fee covers all costs to run the regatta, use of the Union Sailing Club facilities, 2 commemorative mugs, place awards, special awards, 2 tickets to the “Cheeseburger in Paradise” welcome dinner Thursday evening, and lunches for skipper and crew Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
3.2 Other fees:
There is an additional daily Park use fee of $6/vehicle and $6/boat. (Or a season pass for non-Longmont residents of $60/vehicle and $35.)
Camping is available on-site for $8/night

4 SCHEDULE
4.1 Wednesday, June 25:
1 pm – 5 pm: Optional clinics
(Review the new Nickels Mutineer, Racing Rules of Sailing, Mutineer repairs and upgrades, etc. Informal, social, whatever the people attending want. Email Gib with requests: GibSail@comcast.net)
6 pm: Race as guests in the USC Wednesday club racing series
4.2 Thursday, June 26:
8 am -1 pm Registration, measure sails, inspect and weigh boats, USC Grounds
2 pm Competitor’s meeting, USC Clubhouse
3 pm Practice races
6:30 Welcome dinner, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, USC grounds
4.3 Championship series:
Friday, June 27: First warning 10 am, additional races to follow, no start after 4pm
Saturday, June 28: First warning 10 am, additional races to follow, no start after 4pm
Sunday, June 29: First warning 10 am, additional races to follow, no start after 1 pm
4.4 Sunday, June 29: Lunch and awards presentation after racing, USC grounds
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available after 8am on Thursday, June 26 at registration at the Union Sailing Club. Pre-registered skippers will be notified if the sailing instructions are available earlier.
6 VENUE
6.1 The location of the Union Sailing Club is:

6.2 The racing area will be on Union Reservoir, close to the Union Sailing Club.
7 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing Instructions.
8 SCORING
8.1 3 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
8.2 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 5 to 9 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When 9 to more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
9 BERTHING / LAUNCHING
Boats shall be kept on their trailers either in the Union Park or Union Sailing Club parking lots overnight.
Boats will be launched each morning and retrieved each afternoon. Boats may be vehicle launched at the city boat ramp, south side of the lake. Boats may be dolly launched at the sailing club. If the water level is up and the Harbormaster allows, trailers with tongue dollies might be able to launch at the sailing club. Two trailer tongue dollies will be available use at the club.
10 PRIZES
All boats will be sailing as one fleet. Awards will be given to skipper and crew for places 1-5. The names of the winning skipper and crew will be engraved on the perpetual trophy, and the winning skipper will be in possession of the perpetual trophy until the 2009 National Championship regatta. Awards will also be given to the skipper and crew of the top placing boat attending their first Nationals of any sailing one-design, skipper and crew of the top placing boat sailing without a spinnaker, and the top placing woman skipper. Other prizes will be awarded at the whim of the prize chairman.
11 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
