“Toward a More Perfect Union”
Rules and Regulations (Revision 3/12/08 – your suggestion are welcome!)
1) USC Members must FIRST AND FOREMOST familiarize themselves with and abide by City of Longmont/Union Reservoir rules and regulations - available at Guard House on west side of reservoir.
2) Members are to conduct all activities in accordance with the Guiding Principals of Union Sailing Club
3) All members should plan to volunteer 2 times per season minimum. Each skipper who races must volunteer a minimum of one time for every 5 days racing to be eligible for Series Awards.
4) All non-members entering USC grounds and using USC equipment must be accompanied by a USC member.
5) Powerboats may only be operated by USC members who have been trained in that particular boat’s safe operating procedures by Harbor Master.
6) All USC boats must be operated by USC members (Insurance requirement)
7) TWO registrations:
a. All cars at Union Reservoir, including those entering the USC grounds must first acquire daily or annual vehicle passes displayed as required by City.
b. All boats parked or used Union Reservoir must first acquire daily or annual boat passes in addition to vehicle passes displayed as required by City.
8) No alcohol is permitted without a City permit
9) The USC grounds must be locked when there are no members on shore (lock the gate if you are out on the water and no one is on shore!)
10) Motor vehicles are not allowed on the USC earthen boat ramp and approaches. The boat ramp is for dolly launching/retrieving only.
11) No parking shall be permitted outside the gated area of USC (ie. no parking on Weld County Road 26)
12) USC access is limited to Union Reservoir hours of operation posted at the main gate.
13) NO SWIMMING at USC – Swimming is only allowed at the swim beach near the southwest area of the lake.
14) DOGS must be on leash.
Additional Rules and Regulations:
USC reserves the right to deny the activities of any of its members that do not comply with these rules and regulations or that do not further the mission and goals of the club.
USC activities have inherent risks. USC strives to provide a safe environment for anyone involved in any of its activities with the resources it has available. However, it is not possible, nor in keeping with this kind of club for it to be held responsible for personal safety. Please come to USC with the understanding that attendance at USC activities is done so at the individual’s own risk.
